Jalapeno Cheddar Potato Chips by Archer Farms

It comes as no surprise that is rained again in Miami, so I put on my Strawberry Shortcake pajamas, grabbed some Archer Farms Jalapeño Cheddar potato chips and grabbed a cat to cuddle with on the couch. I was a little nervous to eat the chips because of my terrible experience with the General Tso flavor.

Jason really picked out the Jalapeño Cheddar chips. He didn’t trust me to pick out another flavor after the General Tso debacle. Besides, he likes spicy stuff. As a matter

Jeff and Joey Anderson - Founders of Bio Taxi

If you live in Richmond, Virginia you are in luck! You can get where you need to go by riding in a taxi, named Bio Taxi, which is fueled by French fry oil. I couldn’t believe this either when I heard it! This is the most exciting news I have heard since I learned that sharks like French fries!

So here are the details behind the genius French fry idea. Two brothers, who spent their formative years flipping burgers, wanted to help save the world by using grease for fuel. Oddly enough, they found a way to do this! Read the rest of this entry »

Archer Farms Potato Chips – General Tso Flavor

Posted by French Fry Fairy On August - 31 - 20101 COMMENT

I was at Target the other day and I was craving some potato chips. Florida has had really rainy weather the past few days and I wanted some comfort food to keep me fat while I snuggled up under a blanket and waited for the rain to pass. I went to the potato chip aisle and picked up a couple bags of Archer Farms Potato Chips. I really enjoy Archer Farms Potato Chips because they have really unique flavors. The other brand of potato chips I really like is Kettle Brand chips. I have a hunch that Kettle Brand is the private label producer for Archer Farms. They have very similar flavors and Kettle is not sold at Target. If I really cared that much, I could answer my own question and find out if this is true. The truth is I really don’t care as long as I get to eat delicious potato chips. I picked up General Tso Potato Chips because they sounded scrumptious. Read the rest of this entry »

Shane's Rib Shack

I recently found out about a contest from Shane’s Rib Shack. This restaurant chain is located in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Whew! That’s a lot of states. Shane’s Rib Shack is in the process of introducing new side dishes. Many people submitted recipes to be considered by Shane’s Rib Shack and there were three finalists chosen. I immediately became interested when I saw that two of the three finalists were potato side dishes! Yummy.

Buffalo Bleu Kettle Chips Review… I love Potato Chips

Posted by French Fry Fairy On August - 28 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Buffalo Bleu Kettle Potato Chips

Buffalo Bleu Kettle Chips are some of the most uniquely flavored potato chips on the market. Most potato chip brands have the common flavors – Barbeque, Sour Cream & Onion, Regular and once in a while there is even Sea Salt and Vinegar.

There are two brands of potato chips that I have found that have really funky flavors. Kettle Chips and surprisingly Target’s Archer Farms brand has a bunch of really unique flavors for potato chips. I like trying all the different flavors. When I am presented with that many choices, I feel like a kid in a candy shop. Except the candy is a potato… Read the rest of this entry »

I went to Orlando to visit some of my dearest friends in the entire world… I love my girls! When I first arrived, I was hungry! Hamburger Mary’s in Orlando has some of the best burgers in Florida. They also have a wide range of fried potato options on their menus! In addition, they have Celebrity Impersonation Shows (or drag shows) that are so much fun…

French Fries at the Outback Steakhouse

Josh and I went to the Outback Steakhouse to grab some grub. I really wanted the Bloomin’ Onion. There are no words to describe the deliciousness of the Bloomin’ Onion. I once read that it has the most calories and fat than any other appetizer… ever. It’s yummy. Read the rest of this entry »

A recent article by the American Journal of Cardiology recently published an article that makes some pretty ballsy claims. They are suggesting that the negative effects of fast food may be lessened if consumers take a statin (cholesterol lowering drug) while consuming their favorite fatty treats. All I can say to that is –  WTF? Even I think that is absolutely ridiculous. I eat way more French fries than the average person, but I know that you can only enjoy fattening things in moderation. Fort Lauderdale: Briny Irish Pub and Crinkle Cut French Fries

Posted by French Fry Fairy On August - 22 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

My friends and I went to Briny Irish Pub on the Riverfront in Fort Lauderdale. I was really carving Thai food, but I kept getting denied. I finally just sat back and let them decide where to go. Josh took charge and suggested Briny Irish Pub. I love Irish pubs because they almost always have fresh-cut potatoes. We arrived and the place was pretty cute! It was right on the water and I was surprised at the size of the interior. It was decorated with marine décor and knick knacks. They even had a life-size pirate statue that was pretty close to our table. That made me pretty happy. Pirates are hot Read the rest of this entry »

No French Fries or Dinner… Just Fried Milk Duds and Candy Corn

Posted by French Fry Fairy On August - 21 - 20101 COMMENT

So I was sitting at home and for once in my life I wasn’t craving fried potatoes. I was craving something fattening and sweet, but I still wanted it to be fried. I remembered a blog post I wrote for the Miami New Times about the Top 10 Fried Foods. I decided to fry something other than tubers that I learned to like while writing that post. *Warning* This post is not for health nuts or dieters.

Surprisingly, fried Candy Corn and Milk Duds are especially delicious. You might just think you can throw these little nuggets of sweetness into the fryer. Not the case… There is a process to making extra delicious fried balls of sugar.

Step One: Heat up your fryer Read the rest of this entry »
